Free to start, then coins you buy once

No plan renewing in the background and nothing to cancel, and you get a notice before coins start going. Below is the ladder, and — more useful — exactly which parts of the site cost something and which do not.

What costs something, and what does not

Uses coins

  • Talk time on a matched call, once the free countdown has run out.
  • Talk time on a call you start yourself from the online list.
  • Anything you choose to send during a call — gifts and the like are always a deliberate tap.

Costs nothing

  • Looking around the site and browsing who is online.
  • Waiting in the queue for a match to come through.
  • The free countdown at the start of a matched call, before the on-screen notice.
  • Leaving a call, or pressing Next to go back into the queue.

A matched call opens on a free countdown. A few seconds before it runs out you get an on-screen notice, so coins never start going without you seeing it happen.

Three things worth knowing

Coins, not a subscription

You buy coins once and they sit on the account. Nothing renews quietly in the background and there is nothing to remember to cancel. Buy again when you run out, or do not.

The rate is not flat

The smallest package works out around 34 coins per dollar; $99.99 works out around 55 once the bonus is counted. If you already know you will be back, the middle of the ladder is where it stops feeling expensive.

There is an optional pass

A 30-day VIP is $9.99 and comes with a coin bonus plus a few extras. Nothing on the site pushes you into it, and it is a bonus bundle rather than the way in — matching and calling do not depend on having it.

Questions people actually ask

What does a minute actually cost?
It depends who you are talking to — people on the site are priced differently, so any single number printed here would be wrong for most calls. The rate for the person in front of you is shown before the call begins, and you get an on-screen notice before coins start going.
Is it really free to start?
Free to start, not free forever. You get a set number of free matches on the account, and every matched call opens on a free countdown before anything is spent. After that it runs on coins.
Will it keep charging if I walk away?
A call runs while it is open, so end it when you are done rather than leaving the tab. If the balance runs low the site says so rather than draining it silently — there is a notice, not a surprise.
What happens to coins I have not used?
They stay on the balance rather than resetting when a month rolls over — coins are a purchase, not an allowance. For the exact terms that apply to your account, the wallet screen and the terms of service are the place to check.
Do I need the VIP pass?
No. Matching and calling run on coins either way, so it is a bonus bundle rather than the way in. Buy it if the coin bonus happens to suit how much you use the place, and ignore it otherwise.
Which package should I start with?
The $1.99 one, honestly. It is the worst rate on the ladder and that does not matter — it costs less than a coffee to find out whether you like the place at all. Move up only once you know.
